Run

Running in and around Rooiels offers a mix of rough-surfaced and tarred routes, with beautiful scenery and fresh sea air along the way. Whether youโ€™re looking for a relaxed social outing or a longer training run, there are several options to choose from.

๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธSocial Village Runs

On most weekdays at 7:30 am, a small group meets at the junction of Oceanview Drive and Harveya Road for a relaxed run through the village. The gathering is informal and does not take place every day.

These runs are as much social as they are athletic. Dogs on leads are welcome, the pace is comfortable, and many mornings end with a refreshing dip in the ocean.

๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธLonger Route

For those looking for a longer run, a roughly 10 km route heads south along Porter Drive towards Pringle Bay. The surface is mountain earth and rock, and can be uneven in places. From there, runners return north towards Rooiels along the tarred shoulder of the R44.

Runners should remain aware of traffic, wind conditions and changing weather. Morning temperatures are generally more comfortable, particularly in the summer months.
