Membership Information

The Rooiels Ratepayers Association (RERA) exists to represent and support the interests of ratepayers and residents in Rooiels. By becoming a member, you help strengthen RERA’s voice when engaging with local authorities, contribute to informed and constructive community decision-making, and support initiatives that protect the village’s character, environment, and way of life. 

How Membership Helps

Your support enables RERA to:

  • Advocate for the interests of ratepayers and residents in Rooiels.

  • Engage constructively with Overstrand Municipality and other authorities on service delivery, planning, development, and infrastructure matters.

  • Support initiatives that maintain the village’s character, environment, and quality of life.

  • Keep residents informed about local issues and foster transparent, timely communication.

Membership Benefits

As a member you’ll:

  • Help shape decisions and priorities that affect Rooiels.

  • Contribute to a stronger, more united community voice.

Membership Options

RERA offers two types of membership to include all residents and those with an interest in the village. 

🗣️ Ordinary Membership

Open to all ratepayers or their authorised representatives. Ordinary Members have full voting rights at General Meetings and play an active role in shaping the association’s priorities.

Annual fee: R300 per household

👤Associate Membership

Open to individuals with a connection to the community, such as non-resident family members of ratepayers, long-term renters or anyone with an interest in the village. Associate Members may contribute to consultations and discussions but do not have voting rights.

Annual fee: R150 per member

Renewing Your Membership

RERA membership runs on a calendar-year basis. Renewal fees are due by 30 June each year to ensure your membership and voting rights remain active for that year.
